At the age of 5 this Hoosier (born in Indiana) girl saw The
Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and has been singing ever since.
Beginning in school choirs in the 6th grade in the northwest
suburbs of Chicago, Carolyn sang in and accompanied her choirs
through college here in California. A short stint with the
originals band The Law followed where she played keyboards and
sang back-up vocals. After her marriage to her husband, Larry,
they formed a duo and played the Seacliff Country Club in
Huntington Beach and The Hobbit restaurant in Orange. Then came
2 children and singing was relegated to crying babies and the
occasional karaoke night for several years until now. Carolyn
is very excited to be a part of "Collectively Kenny" and this
new experience of performing acapella music.

A native So Cal soprano, Colleen has been singing in choirs
and small ensembles since grade school. While singing mostly
classical choral music in high school, Colleen discovered her
true love for vocal jazz when she heard her first Manhattan
Transfer album (yes, it was vinyl) and she was hooked. In
college, Colleen sang in multiple vocal jazz choirs, touring
with the jazz band as well. Her interests were directed toward
a capella vocal jazz when introduced to Take 6. In Collectively
Kenny, Colleen is now able to combine her love for a capella
singing with her eclectic music interests in classic rock, jazz,
R&B and so much more!

Jay Welch has been singing for as long as he can remember.
His whole world changed when he bought Sgt. Pepper, his first
LP (note that doesn’t say CD, for those younger folks out
there). Harmonies always fascinated him, and he found himself
singing these instead of the melody. While this didn’t win him
any popularity contests, it did help him develop his ear for
backgrounds and vocal arrangements. Jay has performed all
over the Southwest including live venues, TV commercials, and
a local network morning show in Arizona.

This Southern California native didn't find his (singing)
voice until he was over 30 but he's been exercising it
routinely ever since. A huge Pink Floyd fan, he was raised on
Andy Williams and refined on blues and southern rock-and-roll.
He plays guitar and 5-string banjo and has sung with a dozen
vocal groups from larger jazz choirs to accompanied vocal
ensembles and... his personal favorite... small a cappella
groups. As the bass of the group, he says, "You won't see me
in the spotlight much but you'll ALWAYS know I'm there."
